Fell Races
There are 5 fell races through the day (see the Fell Race Entry Forms below):
Five Mile Fell Race
- Length: 8 km / 5 miles
- The top loop is clockwise
Short Senior Fell Race
- Length: 2.8 km / 1.75 miles
- 170m ascent / 560ft ascent
- Out and back
U17 Fell Race
- Length: 1.9 km / 1.2 miles
- 90m / 295ft ascent
- Out and back
U14 Fell Race
- Length: 1.4 km / 0.9 miles
- 50m / 165ft ascent
- Out and back
U12 Fell Race
- Length: 1.25 km / 0.8 miles
- 150ft / 45m ascent
- Out and back
Important info
- We are governed by the Fell Runners Association (FRA), please click here for their rules.
- Please do NOT run these trails other than on Show day. The routes use private land and permission is ONLY granted for Show day!
- For Juniors and Seniors, your age category will be taken as your age on Show day
- One runner can only win one cash prize per race
- If for any reason you are unable to complete your race you must report back to the registration tent or inform a race marshal that you have retired.
- If you reside within the Show District, please enter where you live on the form when you register.
Track Races
Track races for both adults and children are run throughout the day – including
- 90 metres Handicap – Senior (17 and over), Boys and Girls (8-16 yrs)
- 200 metres Handicap – Senior (17 and over), Boys and Girls (8-11 yrs & 12-16 yrs)
- 400 metres Handicap – Senior (17 and over), Boys and Girls (under 17 yrs)
- 800 metres Handicap – Senior (17 and over), Boys and Girls (under 17 yrs)
- 1600 metres Handicap – Senior (17 and over), Boys and Girls (under 17 yrs)
Children’s races (under 8 years) & fun events
- Fancy Dress (12 years and under)
- Children’s Pet Show (12 years and under)
- Dog with the Waggiest Tail
- Fancy dress – theme something beginning with “B”
- Pet show – theme Pet & owner lookalike competition (face painting & costumes can be used)
- Adults Egg and Spoon Race
- Egg throwing and catching (teams of 2) Adult and U16 teams
Tug of war
- Adults team open to all teams of 6 (at least 2 females).
- Children’s teams of 8, aged 8 to 14.
